    I have so many horrible stories about this place. This is what happens when a government entity is allowed to have a monopoly over public services. When I first got my phone line I told them that I wanted Caller ID and checked the box for it. I went back a month later to pay my bill and asked the lady why I still did not have Caller ID. She said that I never requested it. I asked her to get the form that I filled out when I got the phone line so that she would see that I requested it. After about an hour she brought back the form and there was clearly a check mark on Caller ID. She refused to fix it however and said that the instructions said place an "X" there not a checkmark. I went to the manager and told him what happened and he told her to fix it and give me caller ID. She went to his office and argued with him for a half hour about it rather than just listening to his instructions. After about 2 hours at the office I finally had Caller ID. That is great. The problem is my phone line had so much static on it that it was useless. DSL was out of the question. The manager acknowledged that the phone line leading from the main box to my apartment was bad and needed to be replaced. Nobody in my building has a reliable phone line because all of the cables leading to our building are bad. He said it would take too much work to fix though and that he would not send any technician to deal with it. I disconnected both my phone line and DSL and was using a 3G connection with Vodafone for almost a year. We eventually got our neighbor's permission to run a cable from his box to ours and so far everything has been okay. When we did this though one of the Egypt Telecom technicians came complaining that we did not get his permission to do it first. Why he didn't do the same thing a year ago God only knows. I made dozens of trips to the central because of this issue and wasted who knows how many pounds in cab fare. I do not think there is one decent central in all of Egypt. I would be shocked to find one.

    I have mixed feelings about Noor, but I continue to stay with them for one reason: we have very bad phone lines and Noor was the only company who made a sincere effort to help us. Their service and response to complaints tends to be much better than TE Data or Link. HOWEVER, my speeds are pretty clearly throttled. Case in point, if I download a file over HTTP I can get my full speed (2mb); however, using a VPN or service running on another port I get only half that (and sometimes less). That's despite the fact that I do not torrent or do anything that one might considered abusive. So in short -- if you're fed up with TE Data and Link -- Noor will provide you with better customer service and likely with a connection that actually WORKS. On the other hand, you might not be getting full speeds when doing certain tasks other than web browsing.

    I am not sure if the reviewers are talking about the same restaurant. The one I know is beside Roosto. I always go to Abou Aly to get roasted chicken because the lines at Roosto are SOOO long. Abou Aly's roasted chicken tastes the same or better and there is no long wait. I usually go there instead. On the other hand, there is a restaurant named Abou Aly El Shamy in Ali El deen plaza. I ordered chicken from them thinking that it was the same Abou Aly as in Hosary and it was not very good, and sort of expensive. So maybe people are confusing the two? All of my experiences with the Abou Aly in Hosary have been good.

    The SSD drive in my iMac died a few months ago. I called Tradeline to see how much it would cost to fix. They told me they could not quote me a price over the phone unless I brought the machine to them. This is despite the fact that I told them the exact model that I owned. I do not own a car and live in October, so bringing the machine (which is big) to Zayed required me to get a taxi. When I got there they told me that the drive itself would cost 3000 LE without installation fees. They only had a 500gb drive in stock, while the one presently in the machine is 240gb. I asked them if I could buy the 240gb from another store and pay them for installation. The guy told me that doing so is "illegal." I took the computer to Baraka computer at Diamond Mall in October -- the place I intended to buy the (240gb) SSD drive from (for 850 LE, by the way). With installation, they charged 1300 LE and completed the entire process in front of me. It only took about 45 minutes. Tradeline also claimed that the broken screen on my iPad could not be repaired and that I had to buy a new one. I took it to another store in Diamond and he fixed it for 300 LE. Tradeline used to have a repair center in Qasr El Ain -- and their service was actually pretty good. They've since moved to Zayed and have attempted to adopt a sort of "high class" persona and treat their customers like trash. I've been told that Best Buy is superior to Tradeline in some respects, so when it comes to making any major Apple-related purchases I will probably go to them from now on. Good job alienating your customers.

    When I broke my iPad screen a few months ago I was about to cry! I called Tradeline and they told me it could not be repaired and to buy a new one (laugh). Someone at Diamond recommended that I go to Tamer at Start. He fixed my iPad within a couple of hours and it was like new. It has been fine ever since.

    Baraka tends to have hardware that other places in Diamond Mall do not. For example, they are the only store in the mall to my knowledge who stocks SSDs. They replaced a broken SSD in my iMac a couple months ago and let me watch while doing so. Their work was very clean and good.

    Whenever I need to buy some PC hardware at Diamond Mall I always go to Mohamed at Up Date first before I go to anyone else. He is honest and will not try to sell you anything you do not need, and charges a fair price for everything.

    عندما تكون هناك شركة أو عمل يقدم خدمات ممتازة لعملائة فمن الواجب على العملاء أن يجعلوا هذا الأمر معروفا حتى ينفق الناس أموالهم مع من يتعاملون بالأمانة. وعلى العكس من ذلك، عندما يقدم العمل/التاجر خدمة سيئة أو غير أمينة فمن الواجب أيضا أن نجعل هذا معروفا حتى يتجنبه الآخرون. أملك جهاز كمبيوتر آبل آي ماك، والذي يمكن إصلاح الأعطال به،غالبا ،باستخدام قطع غيار من آبل. أحببت أن أصلح وحدة ال دي في دي (DVD) في الجهاز، فقمت بالاتصال بعدة شركات ومحلات مستفسرا عن إمكانية شراء وحدة معينة تتفق مع الجهاز الذي أملكه. ذهبت إلى محل iStore في مركز دايموند التجاري (دايموند مول) وسألتهم إن كان ممكنا أن يحصلوا على الوحدة المطلوبة. قام الموظف بالاتصال (بهشام) بفرع آخر -بالحي الأول- وأخبرني أن الوحدة موجودة وتتكلف 600 جنية، ولكن علي أن آخذ الكمبيوتر إلى الفرع الآخر. بعد أسبوع تقريبا ذهبت إلى الفرع الثاني ولكن (هشام) لم يكن موجودا. سألت الموظف إن كانت الوحدة المطلوبة موجودة فعلا وجديدة ، فرد الموظف بالإيجاب. عدت مرة أخرى بعد يوم ولكن (هشام) لم يكن موجودا ، ,أخبروني أنه سوف يحضر في حدود خمسة عشر دقيقة. طلبت من الموظف عدم فتح الجهاز حتى يحضر هشام، ولكني شككت في أنه سوف يقوم بفتحه، فدخلت الغرفة التي يعملون بها لأتأكد ، فوجدته قد فتح الجهاز فعلا قبل حضور (هشام). واكتشفت أيضا أنه يقوم بنقل وحدة أخري من جهاز قديم إلى جهاز الكمبيوتر الخاص بي. وتبين بعد ذلك أن هذه الوحدة غير ملائمة لجهازي ، وعلى هذا قام الموظف بإعادة تجميع الجهاز. وبالمناسبة فإن مكان الصيانة غير مناسب تماما ويفتقد المتطلبات المهنية المطلوبة لمثل هذا العمل. لقد كان أمرا يثير السخرية أن تراهم يعملون على الأرض. عند إعادة تجميع الكمبيويتر الخاص بي مرة أخرى، لم يقم (هشام) بتركيب طرف الإستشعار (sensor) الذي يتحكم في إحدى المراوح. اكتشفت هذا عندما عدت إلى المنزل، وقمت بالاتصال به، ولكنه لم يرد على التليفون أول مرة ورفض الكالمة في المرات التالية. قمت بإرسال رسائل SMS أشرح فيها الخطأ ولكنه لم يرد. في اليوم التالي وفي نفس الوقت تقريبا، اتصلت مرة أخرى، لكنه لم يرد أيضا، اتصلت حوالي أربع مرات أخرى. بعد حوالي خمس دقائق اتصلت مرة أخرى من تليفون آخر، فلم يرد أولا ثم قام أحد أصدقائه بالرد وادعى أن هشام غير موجود وأعطاني رقما آخر تبين أنه غير موجود بالخدمة. في يوم الأثنين التالي قمت باصلاح الجهاز (في مكان آخر)، ولكن بعد مجهود كبير كنت في غنى عنه. أشير إلى أن 100% من عملي يتم باستخدام هذا الجهاز. ابتعد عن iStore. إذا كنت تبحث عن شخص لاصلاح منتجات آبل، فإني أقترح عليك التعامل مع Start في مركز دايموندالتجاري وذلك بالنسبة لأشياء مثل الآيفون والآيباد. هناك شخص يسمى تامر يتسم بالأمانة ويتسم عمله بالدقة. بالنسبة لأجهزة الكمبيوتر (PC) فهناك أخ سوري في محل Update في دايموند كانت خبرتي معه جيدة وسارة. هناك أيضا محمد في محل بركة، وهو سخص أمين جدا وعمله جيد جدا، وعندهم قطع غيار يصعب الحصول عليها من أماكن أخرى. للأسف، هناك كثيرون لايقدرون قيمة السمعة الطيبة لنجاح أي عمل تجاري.
